BitDefender 2008 virus definitions can be used with the following products: BitDefender BitDefender Total Security 2008 BitDefender Internet Security 2008 and BitDefender Antivirus 2008.Because new threats appear every day, BitDefender Antivirus need to be updated periodically. The updates can be of the following types: Virus signatures: databases of virus prints compared to scan files. Shown as Virus Definitions Update. These updates require a reboot BitDefender. Reboot automatically. Spam signatures: rules for the heuristic and URL filters increasing the effectiveness of spam protection. Portrayed as anti-spam updates. Products updates, new product opportunities, methods of testing and bug fixes. Displaying product upgrade. Sometimes installing these updates require restarting the computer. To configure the automatic update do the following: Open BitDefender and click Update. Click the Settings button. Adjust the location update. BitDefender 9 includes two update locations, allowing one of them to show up on local mirror.-Configure Automatic Updates. Select Automatic check for updates to see if there are updates.
